During the State visit of the German Federal Republic President Joachim Gauck, Socio-Cultural Director Paula Forttes received the First Lady of Germany at La Moneda Palace last July 12.
Director Forttes and Ms. Daniela Schadt visited different locations in the Presidential Palace, such as the hall to the dining room, a space that was part of the presidential cabinet until 1973, the Pablo Neruda Room, Gabriela Mistral Room, the location where the Presidency Socio-Cultural Department operates and, finally, the poet Vicente Huidobro’s Memorial.
The visit continued at the White Room, which recreates President Salvador Allende’s office. The White Room was created in 2008, during President Michelle Bachelet’s first administration, and it seeks to contribute to the country’s historical memory by recreating two locations of the former president. Then, the guest visited El Patio de Los Canelos, named as recognition to our native peoples. Finally, the group continued to the Palacio la Moneda Culture Center.
MundoChile had the honor to provide simultaneous and consecutive translation for this important meeting, delivering high-quality service during the conferences and supporting communication between German and Chilean representatives.
