On July 2, in the framework of the celebration of the Canada Day, the Embassy of Canada, together with the Chilean Canadian Chamber of Commerce, the Ministry of Mining, BGC Engineering, and the Canadian Institute of Mining (Los Andes, Chile); organized the webinar «Chilean-Canadian Engineering and Adaptation of Mining Projects faced to the Challenges of the 21st Century».
This seminar addressed the importance of combining techniques and knowledge from both countries to promote mining development, always in line with the country’s environmental and water needs, and which have changed due to the climate change effects.
In this webinar, Dr. Lukas Arenson referred to the resilience of the mining infrastructure; Dr. Matthias Jakob presented on climate change; and Dr. Pablo Wainstein discussed glaciers, cryo-hydrology and water management.
