The Armed Forces Investigation and Control Institute (IDIC), of the Army Military Industry and Engineering Command (CIMI), received in Chile delegates from countries participanting in the Permanent International Commission for the Use of Portable Firearms (C.I.P.).
During the activities, the participants visited the Institute and met, in intense dialogue sessions, at Casapiedra Conference Center on October 18 and 19.
One of the subjects of most interest for the participants was the Arms System, an instance where they watched tests on armoured glass, walls, helmets, and bullet-proof vests, among other, where the material resistance was of vital importance.
It is necessary to point out that the Commission had not met in the country since 1992; therefore, this was a significant event for the Institute and the Army, worthy to be highlighted.
During his speech, IDIC Director spoke on the importance for the country to be a member of C.I.P., and on the honor it is to receive such a high-rank delegates at the Institute.
MundoChile had the honour and great challenge to participate with its somultaneous interpreters during work sessions at Casapiedra, working in three interconnected cabins to simultaneusly deliver the messsages in English, French, and German.
