HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, held its first conference in Chile: HIMSS Chile Conference & Exhibition, from November 30 to December 2 at Santiago Crowne Plaza Hotel. This conference was especially important because Chile Ministry of Health, the event sponsor, has launched the SIDRA 2.0 Project, whose purpose is to enable the preparation of a longitudinal clinical file for all the country inhabitants and promote secondary use of health data. During the conference, which lasted three full days, HIMSS shared the best international practices related to interoperation, product certification, and information system standards in order to support the Ministry of Health plans to transform health in Chile. Besides, on the third day of activities, HIMSS, with the collaboration of the Economy Under-Secretary Office and CORFO, offered a lecture on Health IT Innovation and small and medium size businesses in order to support market goals development in Chile and Latin America. MundoChile participated in the conference providing an excellent interpretation service in English and Spanish combinations in the technical and scientific areas.
