With the purpose of contributing to the knowledge, spreading, and generation of good practices regarding labor safety and health that help companies to prevent workers’ risks and accidents, Mutual de Seguridad CChC held the first international symposium “Mortality and Work: An Urgent Preventive Challenge” on Tuesday, October 7, and Wednesday, October 8. Important national and international speakers participated in the meeting, which was started by Dr. Jukka Takala, Executive Director of the Work Health and Safety Institute of Singapore, and Helmuth Ehnes, General Secretary of ISSA Mining, the mining department of the International Social Security Association, the largest international organization promoting labor security in the world, who spoke about the urgency to create public policies to reduce labor mortality in the country. Also, important companies of different production and service sectors shared their experiences on the country labor safety matters through 40 presentations and technical workshops, which included subjects such as risk management models, good labor practices, analysis and study cases, and advancements in SSO, highlighting the keys for success in health management and occupational health systems.
