On September 10 and 11, the Chilean International Renewable Energy Congress was held in Santiago de Chile. Several factors, as important as the country 5.1% GDP growth until 2015, a mining industry with a high growth capacity in need of large amounts of energy, together with a high probability that the country energy needs will double, made this event a must for the world renewable energy professionals. High-level attendants, speakers of excellence, and related presenting companies made this event a scenario to appreciate Chile’s importance for the renewable energy sector. It is important to mention that Chile has 16,000 MW geo-thermal energy potential. The Congress lasted two days. During the first day, general issues were discussed, and during the second day there was a space for each type of energy.
