“Smart Cities Summit 2013: “Building Today the Cities of Tomorrow” was organized by Fundación País Digital and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), and held at ECLAC headquarters on August 22, with the participation of important national and international experts. The discussion and debate were focused on the initiatives and advancement regarding intelligent cities in our country and in the world. Cases of success related to quality of life, society, mobility, environment, economy, and electronic government were known. Simultaneously, there was a debate on the policies necessary to build intelligent cities to improve citizens’ life in Chile and the rest of Latin America and the Caribbean. Antonio Prado, ECLAC Deputy Executive Secretary, Pedro Pablo Errázuriz, Chile Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, and Pelayo Covarrubias, Chairman of Fundación País Digital Board of Directors participated in the opening.
