09/09/2019
Representatives from the member countries of the commission were present at this activity as well as other countries invited, such as the Bahamas, Suriname and Grenada. Also, leading experts lectured and shared their experiences on the relevance of their registration and identification systems.
This meeting sought the exchange of information and knowhow whilst bringing the institutions up to date on what progress had been made with regard to registration matters in the region and generating commitments in search of future growth.
Guest of honor at the inauguration was the Sub-secretary for Justice of the host country, Juan José Ossa, who discussed the progress made in Chile with regard to registration matters and the importance of holding these types meetings in order to strengthen the work put in regarding registration systems.
The national director for the Chilean Civil Registration and Identification Service, Jorge Álvarez then also referred to the importance of these get togethers when he declared that: “The space provided for us by CLARCIEV is not just for a simple meeting or exchange of experiences, but rather it is the need to optimize how we can improve and render our services in a changing world that seeks greater efficiency and the inclusion of the more vulnerable sectors of the public”.
It was MundoChile’s honor to render simultaneous interpretation services in English and Spanish for this key encounter within the development of our society.
